San Lorenzo

The district of San Lorenzo was built around the famous Basilica, one of the most important and ancient church in Florence.

The church was consecrated in 393 and then modified several times in the centuries, up to the project by Brunelleschi in 1418 that was strongly supported by Cosimo de 'Medici. Inside the church you can admire frescoes by Donatello and the graves of prominent members of the Medici family.

Near the Basilica develops the famous San Lorenzo market, which is a must-to-be visited placein your visiting tour in Florence. The San Lorenzo district is full of hotels and accommodation facilities.

Choosing an hotel in San Lorenzo you can stay a few steps away from the Medici Chapels and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the most original market of Florence.
